The American Way is an epic tale of the American immigrant experience in the early 1900's. It covers 50 years of the life of Martin Gunther, a German immigrant, who sends for his wife and children so that they may enjoy the advantages of America. Martin discovers a land of opportunity and lives a successful life in America until the depression hits in the 1930's when he loses everything. Through out his life he never falters from his faith in America, the land of freedom and hope.
