The 'stunning' (New York Magazine) vocalist and globally-inspired composer Imani Uzuri teams up with composer and Numinous ensemble founder Joseph C. Phillips, Jr. to perform new works commissioned for this year's Ecstatic Music Festival,presented by Kaufman Music Center at Merkin Concert Hall. Uzuri will premiere an original multi-voice and multi-instrument musical suite, Placeless, performed by Imani Uzuri, Numinous, and featuring very special guests including harpist Brandee A. Younger. The compositions explore the expansive themes of home and “place” inspired by the Psalms, the writings of Sufi mystic and poet Rumi and the folk hymnody African-American Spirituals.

Mazzella will be honored at USITT's 2013 Annual Conference & Stage Expo March 20?23 in Milwaukee, Wis., an event that draws over 5,000 people from the world of theatrical design and technology. Mazzella, CEO of Hudson Scenic Studio, Hudson Sound & Light, and Hudson Theatrical Associates, has been technical supervisor for over 40 Broadway productions, including All About Me with Michael Feinstein (2010) and The Caine Mutiny Court?Martial with David Schwimmer (2006).

SJCChicago LLC is proud to present the return of Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre production of Smokey Joe's Café – The Songs of Leiber and Stoller at the Royal George Cabaret Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted Ave. The hit production received rave reviews from Chicago critics when it ran at Chicago's No Exit Café last fall. The transfer of Smokey Joe's Café – The Songs of Leiber and Stoller features the same award-winning cast directed, once again, by Brenda Didier. This production's musical direction is by Jeremy Ramey and Steve Hiltebrand serves as the associate director and associate producer. Smokey Joe's Café runs Thursday, March 7 – Sunday, May 26.

Ratzenberger, best known for his role as Cliff Clavin on "Cheers" and his recurring roles in Pixar films, was there to honor Wounded Warriors and was joined by several military veterans in the crowd.
