Oyster Mill Playhouse in Camp Hill is announcing its second production for 2013 season, The Scarlet Letter. It is a drama by Phyllis Nagy, adapted from the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Directed by Joyce O'Donnell, Hawthorne's classic novel comes to the stage with a modern adaptation, as seen through the eyes of a character from the book. Although set in Puritan times, it deals with decidedly contemporary issues. Hester Prynne's daughter Pearl is now an adult and retells the story of her mother's fall from grace in Colonial Boston and its effect on the citizens of the city. This exceptional reworking of The Scarlet Letter will delight everyone who remembers having to struggle through the novel in school and will bring a new understanding of Hawthorne' work to the audience.

The Scarlet Letter runs March 8th- March 17th. Curtain is 8 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 2 PM Sunday. Tickets are on sale now and they are $14.00. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at (717)-737-6768 or through the website, www.oystermill.com.
