Broadway's new musical comedy Disaster! is currently in previews at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street) and already the cast has welcomed a slew of Broadway friends backstage. Over the weekend, Andrea Martin (Noises Off), Brandon Uranowitz (An American in Paris, Joshua Henry (Shuffle Along) and Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans) stopped by and posed for a photo afterwards!

The wait is over! Sandy Duncan, the beloved stage and screen actress known for her magical, high-flying, Tony-nominated performance as 'Peter Pan' on Broadway, has returned to Neverland.

The critically acclaimed play THE WOODSMAN, a uniquely inventive retelling of the origins of Oz's Tin Woodsman, officially opened last night, February 8, 2016, at Off-Broadway's New World Stages - Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street). Laura Benanti (Amalia), Zachary Levi (Georg), Gavin Creel (Kodaly), Michael McGrath (Sipos), Jane Krakowski (Ilona) and Byron Jennings (Maraczek) will star in Roundabout's new Broadway production of SHE LOVES ME, directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Paul Gemignani. This classic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock. The Drama League of New York just celebrated a major milestone few organizations have achieved -- its 100th birthday! The 100th Birthday Party was held on January 11, 2016, at Feinstein's/54 Below, featuring cocktails, dinner, and a one-night-only concert celebrating The Drama League and 100 years of service to the American Theatre. The Broadway company of the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical CHICAGO welcomes NFL Legend and Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George, who made his Broadway debut in the role of 'Billy Flynn' last night, January 12, 2016. Just yesterday, the company of Beautiful celebrated a milestone- two years on Broadway! Since opening on Broadway on January 12, 2014, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter has broken all box office records at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it is now the highest grossing production in the theatre's history.  It recently passed the $100 million in grosses and is already the 27th highest grossing musical in Broadway history.  BroadwayWorld was there for the special day and you can check out photos below!

Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions' THE SECRET GARDEN, a Broadway benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, presented the first of two sold-out performances last night, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The fully staged production, directed/choreographed by Curtis Holbrook, was led by Rebecca Luker as Lily, Gabriella Pizzolo as Mary, and Bradley Dean as Archie with Tom Deckman, Ali Ewoldt, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Bill Nolte, Eli Tokash, Max von Essen, and Cortney Wolfson. Additionally, composer Lucy Simon and original cast member Daisy Egan co-hosted the night. American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) returns to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue), playing through Sunday, January 3rd. Nikki Feirt Atkins is Founder and Producing Artistic Director of ADM21. Directed by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Wicked, Sweet Charity revival, Aida, The Who's Tommy), this year's program includes theatre dances from 'Broadway and Beyond' with live music provided by musical director Eugene Gwozdz. This return to The Joyce follows last year's sold out performances and promises once again, to rekindle old memories for theater dance enthusiasts and spark the imagination of audiences not yet familiar with these masterpieces. The new Broadway musical Allegiance celebrated the holidays with a special appearance at the iconic Lord & Taylor flagship store in Manhattan last night. Tony winner Lea Salonga was joined byAllegiance co-stars Katie Rose Clarke and Aaron Albano for performances of the songs 'With You,' 'Stronger Than Before,' and Salonga's Act One-showstopper 'Higher.' Beloved TV icon and social media star George Takei was also on hand for a special appearance, and BroadwayWorld was there for the special day and you can check out photos below!

Transport Group presents Once Upon a Mattress, starring Jackie Hoffman (On the Town, Difficult People, Hairspray) as Princess Winnifred and John 'Lypsinka'Epperson (Lypsinka's The Boxed Set, The Passion of the Crawford) as Queen Aggravain. It opened last night, December 13, and BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration!

The new Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof is got into the holiday spirit by celebrating the first night of Chanukah on Sunday at DOROT on Upper East Side. DOROT, an innovative leader in mobilizing volunteers of all ages to improve the lives and health of the elderly, welcomed members of the Fiddler cast to perform 'If I Were a Rich Man' and 'Sunrise, Sunset' and visit with the seniors. Billy Porter, who has played over 800 performances in the role of 'Lola' and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in Broadway's KINKY BOOTS, took the stage in his final historic performance last night, November 20, 2015. Porter made a touching speech during his final curtain call and passed off the iconic red boots to his successor, Wayne Brady. Check out photos from the sweet event below!

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Producing Artistic Director, Andre Bishop) presents Tammy Blanchard, Patrick Breen, John Benjamin Hickey, Alex Hurt, Kellie Overbey, John Pankow, and Stephen Plunkett in DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, a new play by Peter Parnell, and directed by Scott Ellis. DADA WOOF PAPA HOT began performances Thursday, October 15 and opened last night at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). Check out photos from the big night below!

On November 8th, Playwrights Horizons' celebrated the opening night of Hir, a new play by Obie Award-winning Theater Artist Taylor Mac. Directed by Niegel Smith, the play is the second production of Playwrights Horizons' 2015/2016 Season and is playing at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The limited engagement has already been extended through Sunday, December 6.

Comedy and television icon Bob Saget just stepped into the role of 'Pastor Greg' in the Tony Award-nominated comedy Hand to God beginning last week through the production's previously announced closing on January 3, 2016. Saget returns to Broadway after making his Broadway debut in 2007 in the Tony-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. He will join current Hand to Godcast members Steven Boyer, Geneva Carr, Sarah Stiles, and Michael Oberholtzer.

Michael Arden, Kelli Barrett, Bill Berloni, Robert Fairchild, Sutton Foster, Lesli Margherita,  Andrea McArdle, Orfeh, Hugh Panaro, Kate Rockwell, Jarrod Spector and Alysha Umphress all took part in Best in Shows, a star-studded cabaret evening to benefit the Humane Society of New York, at Feinstein's/ 54 Below.  Oscar and Tony Award-winner Joel Grey was awarded the first annual Humane Society of New York's Sandy Award, presented to an artist who has shown a fierce commitment, through action and advocacy, to the cause of animal rights.

The 2016 KIDS' NIGHT ON BROADWAY National Ambassadors Kelli O'Hara and Marlee Matlin just announced that the 20th Kids' Night on Broadway will take place in New York City on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. It was 20 years ago when Sarah Jessica Parker starred Off-Broadway in A.R. Gurney's off-beat comedy about a man and his dog, SLYVIA. Just last night her hubby Matthew Broderick had the honor of opening in SLYVIA on Broadway, joined by Annaleigh Ashford as Sylvia, with Julie White and Robert Sella.
