Just yesterday, the company of Beautiful celebrated a milestone- two years on Broadway! Since opening on Broadway on January 12, 2014, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter has broken all box office records at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it is now the highest grossing production in the theatre's history. Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions' THE SECRET GARDEN, a Broadway benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, presented the first of two sold-out performances last night, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The fully staged production, directed/choreographed by Curtis Holbrook, was led by Rebecca Luker as Lily, Gabriella Pizzolo as Mary, and Bradley Dean as Archie with Tom Deckman, Ali Ewoldt, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Bill Nolte, Eli Tokash, Max von Essen, and Cortney Wolfson. American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) returns to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue), playing through Sunday, January 3rd. The new Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof is got into the holiday spirit by celebrating the first night of Chanukah on Sunday at DOROT on Upper East Side. DOROT, an innovative leader in mobilizing volunteers of all ages to improve the lives and health of the elderly, welcomed members of the Fiddler cast to perform 'If I Were a Rich Man' and 'Sunrise, Sunset' and visit with the seniors. Billy Porter, who has played over 800 performances in the role of 'Lola' and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in Broadway's KINKY BOOTS, took the stage in his final historic performance last night, November 20, 2015. Comedy and television icon Bob Saget just stepped into the role of 'Pastor Greg' in the Tony Award-nominated comedy Hand to God beginning last week through the production's previously announced closing on January 3, 2016. Saget returns to Broadway after making his Broadway debut in 2007 in the Tony-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. He will join current Hand to Godcast members Steven Boyer, Geneva Carr, Sarah Stiles, and Michael Oberholtzer.
