Last night, the curtain came down on Broadway's Tony, Grammy & Olivier Award-Winning Best Musical Jersey Boys. The show ended its record-breaking, 11-year run after 4,642 performances at the August Wilson Theatre.

In the nearly 4-year-run of the Broadway smash, Matilda the Musical, there have been five sets of Matildas. 19 girls have played the role on Broadway and, for the first time ever, all five 'generations' of Matildas performed together in one exciting concert event at Feinstein's/54 Below. These precocious young ladies performed some of their favorite songs from Broadway and beyond. For four years, they have proven 'even if you're little, you can do a lot.'

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is what Norm Lewis named his show this year, his 2nd consecutive holiday booking, at Feinstein's / 54 Below.

Broadway Shines, the organization of Broadway kids serving to mobilize the Broadway community to help children and families in need, just concluded this year's coat drive. Since 2010, the kids of Broadway have been supporting GMA's 'Warm Coats & Warm Hearts' drive. The organization has already collected more than 350 coats for the cause this year and anticipates a donation tally of approximately 400 coats.

New York Stage and Film just held its annual Winter Gala honoring two titans of the entertainment industry: four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening and famed architect and Tony- and Emmy-winning scenic designer David Rockwell.

Dear Evan Hansen, the new musical with a book by Obie Award-winner Steven Levenson, score by Tony Award nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, just began performances on Broadway last night, November 14, at the Music Box Theatre (239 W 45th St). Dear Evan Hansen will officially open on Sunday, December 4, 2016.

Roundabout Theatre Company's first new play of Roundabout Underground's newly expanded 2016-2017 season, Kingdom Come, just opened last night, November 2, 2016at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, December 18, 2016. 

Samuel French, the world's leading theatrical publishing and licensing company just honored some of the theatre community's most respected artists, activists and rising stars yesterday, when they bestowed the Samuel French Awards in a private reception. NOT THAT JEWISH, written and performed by writer, actress and comedian Monica Piper (Writer of Roseanne, Mad About You, Rugrats) and directed by Mark Waldrop (Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly, Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends), just opened and will play through January 2017 at New World Stages (340 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019).

Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking Broadway musical, CATS will made history once again when internet sensation, Grumpy Cat became the first genuine feline to join the cast. Grumpy Cat, the media personality, performer and New York Times best-selling author, made her Broadway debut (for one night only) alongside the cast on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) last night, Friday, September 30, 2016.

Election day is quickly approaching and the company of Hamilton is making sure that your voice is heard. Just yesterday, the show registered voters from all 50 states outside of the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Miss out on the fun? They'll be back again on October 1, between 5 and 7 pm. on the 28th and Oct. 1st. 

There were Grizabellas here, there, and everywhere last night at the Winter Garden Theatre, as current CATS star Leona Lewis, her upcoming replacement Mamie Parris, and original Broadway glamor cat Betty Buckley met up backstage. Honest Accomplice Theatre is dedicated to creating art for social change and last night premiered the  The Trans Literacy Project at a once in a lifetime benefit event on September 19, 2016 at 42 West in New York, NY.   Hosted by Susan Blackwell this evening featured the launch of The Trans Literacy Project as well as a celebrity game night.

FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical, played its final performance on Broadway last night and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the cast and creative team at the emotional end to it all. 

Earlier this week, the company of CHICAGO took their act uptown, to Central Park. To celebrate the musical's 20th Anniversary, fans got to experience the razzle dazzle with a free concert at SummerStage in Central Park. It's been an enchanting carpet ride for the company of Aladdin since they opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre in March of 2014! On August 7th, they celebrated their 1,001st performance on Broadway and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the magic! Check out the photos below:
