With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.

The Pillowman features Will Douglas, Bret Finholt, Keith Machekanyanga, and Darwin Ragsdale. The production team includes Natalie Novacek (direction), Po-Yang Sung (lighting design), Andie Day (costume design), Michael Krauss (set design), Jared LeClaire (sound design), Sloan Buffum-Robbins (stage management), Kay McGuire (set design assistant), and Julie Maury (assistant stage management).

There will be a total of four performances over one weekend: Wednesday, April 16 through Saturday, April 19. All performances are at 7:30pm. This event is free to the public.

Oscar G. Brockett Theatre is located on the University of Texas at Austin campus in the Winship Drama Building at 300 East 23rd Street, Austin.
