Brooke Van Poppelen to Host SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards, Record Debut Album

The "practically peerless" Brooke Van Poppelen (host of Hack My Life on truTV, @midnight, The Nightly Show) will be hosting the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards in Austin on Tuesday, March 17th, joined by special guest Julian Velard.

She will also be recording her debut album for Sure Thing Records, to be released later in 2016. The recording event is set for Saturday, March 12th (doors at 7:30pm) at Austin Java Parkway - 1206 Parkway, Austin TX. Free!

Brooke Van Poppelen is a NYC-based comic, actress, writer, and host of Hack My Life on truTV. Brooke has appeared on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, @Midnight, and John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show on Comedy Central, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS, IFC's Comedy Drop, and the upcoming first season of Night Train hosted by Wyatt Cenac for NBC's See So. She has appeared as a guest on ABC's The View and Dr. Oz and as a talking head and panelist on multiple MTV, truTV and VH1 shows. Brooke worked as a writer and producer for several seasons of Girl Code and Guy Code and many other MTV shows.

Brooke's stand-up comedy has been praised by Splitsider, Esquire, and Brightest Young Things. She was recently selected for the Headliners Showcase as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has also performed at The Bentzen Ball, Riot Fest LA, SXSW, The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival and Bridgetown and this year will be back at SXSW 2016 hosting the Interactive Awards Ceremony.
