This Halloween season, the Springer Opera House is reviving Evil Dead the Musical. Having received rave reviews after its debut last fall on the Springer's outdoor stage, Evil Dead is back and will be presented in the McClure Theatre at the Springer.
The Springer Opera House held a virtual season announcement on Monday, May 3, to unveil the upcoming shows for the 2021-22 season. The Springer has commissioned rising American playwright, Natalia Temesgen, to write two shows that illuminate the lives of black American heroes in the upcoming season.
The Springer Opera House will open its 2020-21 Season on October 15th with a retooled schedule and a spacious outdoor venue for EVIL DEAD: The Musical.
Evil Dead The Musical takes all the elements of the cult classic films and combines them for one of the craziest, funniest, and bloodiest theatrical experiences of all time. Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons.
As Coronavirus cases surge in the Chattahoochee Valley, the Springer Opera House has made the decision not to open its season in September, as initially announced. While no shows are canceled, most of the shows in the upcoming season will be presented in 2021. Three smaller productions will take place in late fall in fresh air venues or with generous social distancing.
