Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will follow up its mega-hit Calendar Girls with the greatest love story ever told, Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare. Metro Atlanta audiences, still buzzing from Calendar Girls, will next be treated to a big, bold, accessible production as GET dives into Shakespeare for the first time in its 23-year history. GET and Atlanta favorite David Crowe will be directing, and promises a Romeo & Juliet that will be appreciated by both the novice and the Shakespearean scholar. This show runs November 5-22, 2015, at the Theatre's home, the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, GA. This production is sponsored by the Romeo & Juliet Family of Sponsors which includes 32 individual contributors to GET's inaugural Shakespeare play.

About the Play

Georgia Ensemble Theatre brings Atlanta the greatest love story ever told, filled with moonlight, swordplay, jealousy, poison, intrigue, and romance. Innocence meets eternal love and leads to tragic consequences in this big, bold and surprising production of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers and their dangerously feuding families.

Says Director Crowe, "It's not your regular stuffy old Shakespeare," explaining the unique approach he and his ensemble have taken. "Everybody thinks they know the story, but we've found a way to present it to today's audience in a way that's going to excite them. This is a really beautiful, sexy and romantic story. But there's a surprise in it, as well. It turns everything on its ear just a little bit, and allows the audience to see it in a slightly different way that hopefully will delight them."

The Cast:

Romeo & Juliet will feature Atlanta favorites Jennifer Alice Acker (Camelot at GET, Rent at Actor's Express) and Jonathan Horne (John Merrick in The Elephant Man at GET, Hamlet at The New American Shakespeare Tavern).
