Broadway in Atlanta to Present WAR HORSE, SISTER ACT and More in 2012-13

Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta is set to bring five of Broadway's performances to Atlanta's majestic Fox Theatre this season. Featuring two Tony Award® winning musicals, the 2012-2013 season lineup includes War Horse, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, FLASHDANCE, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and SISTER ACT.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's production of War Horse, winner of five 2011 Tony® Awards including Best Play, is charging into Atlanta! War Horse is the powerful story of young Albert's beloved horse, Joey, who has been enlisted to fight for the English in World War I. In a tale Time Magazine calls "a landmark theatre event," Joey is caught in enemy crossfire and ends up serving both sides of the war before landing in no man's land. Albert, not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home. What follows is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship, filled with stirring music and songs and told with some of the most innovative stagecraft of our time.

FLASHDANCE tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex Owens, a working class girl from Pittsburgh with a dream of becoming a professional dancer. She works by day as a steel mill welder, and a bar dancer at night while aspiring to be accepted at a prestigious ballet academy. When Alex catches the eye of her boss Nick Hurley, their romance shows her the meaning of love and drives her ambition to pursue her dream. The original Paramount Pictures film was a worldwide smash hit that became a pop culture phenomenon, grossing over $150 million and featuring a Grammy Award winning soundtrack. FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICALfeatures a score including the hit songs from the movie, all of which became Top Ten hits on the radio around the world. In addition to these hits, 16 brand new original songs have been written for the stage by Robbie Roth and Robert Cary. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical inspired by the true story of four rock 'n' roll icons, is making its premiere in Atlanta! On December 4, 1956 an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together. Sam Phillips, the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" who was responsible for launching the careers of each icon, brought the four legendary musicians together at the Sun Records storefront studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The resulting evening became known as one the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions in history. SISTER ACT

Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. Tickets to individual shows in the 2012-2013 season are not available for purchase at this time. Single-show tickets typically go on sale to the general public 8-12 weeks prior to opening night.
