York Little Theatre (YLT) will present the tragicomedy AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY March 20-22 & 26-29 in The Bon-Ton Studio. Set in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is a portrait of family dysfunction in the midst of a major meltdown. This tragicomedy exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. When the Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, the foul-mouthed, pill popping mother and the three sisters explode in a whirlwind of unsettling family secrets and repressed reality. This 2008 Pulitzer Prize-winning play also won the Tony Award for best play the same year. The play was made into a movie released in 2013 that starred Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is directed by Jim Handakas. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Patrons can save $2 off regular admission price if they purchase tickets prior to opening night. Group sales are available. Go to ylt.org or call 717-854-5715 for advance tickets and more information. Tickets will be available at the door one hour before the performance, if available. The play contains adult language and mature themes. It is not intended for a young audience.
