MINNOJI presented their Resort 2015 collection in an intimate cocktail party, which we got access to thanks to FashionOne! This womenswear collection for the two-year old label was inspired by Samurai. Designer Encheva focused on structure, draping, and employed an androgynous, sometimes masculine approach to the looks. The primary colors for the collection are black and white, with a touch of pink, blue and cream. Leather was the material of choice for various outfits and details.

About MINNOJI:

MINNOJI is a New York based womenswear line founded in 2012 by Milena Encheva. Born and raised in Bulgaria, she started sewing at the age of 9. By the age of 13 she was spending all her free time making patterns, and cutting all the old clothes in the house to make new ones out of them so her family nick named her "Milena the scissors"- which is where the second part of the line's name came from- "nojica" means scissors in Bulgarian. Milena's huge love for fashion and the desire to be among the biggest names in the industry made her decide to move to the US in 2003. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology she began her journey in the NYC fashion industry working for numerous design houses including Calvin Klein, Mona Fior, and Ali Ro; to name a few. Working under another brand did not fulfill Milena's insatiable desire to design clothes , so she created a womenswear line of her own. Made in downtown New York City, Minnoji represents clothing that can be worn day to night. Architecturally inspired the pieces are feminine, sophisticated, yet effortless with a fine attention to clean yet unique details. Minnoji offers a classic silhouette with a dark, romantic twist, translated into wearable styles with one of a kind feel.
