Whatsonstage.com reports today that Trudie Styler will take the stage with Ian Redford and Russell Barr in Out of Joint's A Dish Of Tea with Dr. Johnson at Customs House in South Shields on Tyneside, March 4th and 5th. Styler will play society hostess Mrs. Thrale, the "unrequited" love of writer Samuel Jognson (played by Russell). Out of Joint's artistic director Max Stafford-Clark directs.

The play is an adaptation of The Life of Samuel Johnson and The Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides by James Bosewell.

After playing Customs House, A Dish of Tea with Dr. Johnson will play Warwick Arts Centre, Darlington, Salisbury, Bath and Leeds.

The wife of Police musician Sting, Trudie Styler has starred in Paris Connections, Living Proof, Love Soup, Alpha Male, among others.  She served as executive producer of Guy Ritchie's films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. In the mid-nineties, she established Xingu Films, a Production Company dedicated to supporting new talent, such as Guy Ritchie, Dito Montiel and Duncan Jones. Dito Montiel's A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints was a double Sundance award-winner, while Duncan Jones's Moon won the director a BAFTA in 2010 and Xingu Films a BAFTA nomination. In late July 2008, it was announced that Xingu had optioned American Reaper, an upcoming graphic novel written by Pat Mills, who will also write the screenplay.
