LOUIS-AND-ELLA!, a new jazzical by Trent Armand Kendall reunites The Architect of Jazz and The First Lady of Song for one magical night and will receive a developmental table reading Thursday, April 24th in a donated studio from The Actors Fund.

LOUIS-AND-ELLA!, features a concept / book by Trent Armand Kendall (award winning writer & star of Picture Incomplete), music direction / arrangements by David Snyder (Mr. Confidential, Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid) and direction / choreography by Jeff Whiting (Associate / Resident Director for Bullets Over Broadway, Big Fish and Tony Nominated The Scottsboro Boys).

This new "jazzical", according to production notes, is about redemption and saluting two huge musical icons by reuniting them in Heaven to jam once more as St. Peter, three angels called The Jubilees and Gabriel with his golden horn help their souls to finally cross over while ripping through some of the biggest hits of their storied careers and the great American songbook.

The irrepressible Louis Armstrong is played by the show's creator, Trent Armand Kendall (the award winning LA premiere of Kander & Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys as Mr. Bones, The Color Purple, Into The Woods revival, Bat Boy, London's Five Guys Named Moe) with the melancholy, but luminous Ella Fitzgerald read by NaTasha Yvette Williams (A Night With Janis Joplin, The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, The Color Purple, London's Gone With The Wind). The company also includes Lawrence Clayton (Les Miserables, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, Once Upon A Mattress, The Civil War) as St. Peter, Inga Ballard (Ragtime), Jennifer Fouche' (Sisters the musical) and Destinee Rea (The Music Man in concert).

LOUIS-AND-ELLA! Is being developed and presented by Onemoe Music, Karen Poindexter (National Arts Institute - Producing Artistic Director) General Manager Geoff Cohen and is an official selection of the new Off Broadway Alliance Mentorship Program with counsel from Joe Trentacosta of Springer & Associates PR.
