Deadline reports exclusively that Debra Winger and Tracy Letts will star as a husband and wife in the new comedy THE LOVERS from A24. Filming is expected to get underway shortly.

The project follows "a relationship gone bitterly bad between Michael and Mary; both have lovers who want them to get out of their marriage. However, when Michael and Mary sit down to call it quits, they find themselves suddenly, unexpectedly and even awkwardly falling back in love again."

Azazel wil directed from his own script. Ben LeClair and Chris Stinson are producing.

Winger can currently be seen in the Netflix comedy The Ranch opposite Sam Elliott. Letts received the Pulitzer prize for his play AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. He won a Tony Award for his portrayal of George in the recent Broadway revival of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Other recent credits include the big screen's The Big Short and TV's Homeland.
