Tony Winner Alan Cumming to Host 2016 International Emmy Awards

According to The Hollywood Reporter, star of stage and screen, Alan Cumming will host this year's INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARDS, to be held in New York City on November 21st.

The Tony and Olivier-award winning actor is currently appearing at the Edinburgh FRINGE Festival with his one-man cabaret show: Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs!, running through August 27th.

Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, "Alan Cumming is a master artist; actor, author and entertainer who for the last thirty years, has been continually taking his craft to new heights. We are proud to have this multi-talented performer as our host this year."

In a statement, the 'Good Wife' star shared: "As someone who believes it is important to reach out and embrace different cultures and their stories, and who revels in the diversity and richness of working all over the world, I couldn't be happier to join the celebration of international excellence that is the International Emmys."

In addition to winning the Tony Award for his iconic role in Broadway's CABARET, Cumming is the recipient of 3 Primetime Emmy nominations for his performance as political powerbroker Eli Gold in The Good Wife. His film credits include Bryan Singer's X2 and Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids. In 2015, he co-hosted the TONY AWARDS with fellow Broadway vet Kristin Chenoweth.

The International Emmys honor excellence in television programming produced outside the United States.
