kef productions and Rachel Neuburger have announced 'Tis the @#$%-ing Season, a collection of original holiday stories written by some of New York's rising young playwrights and composers. 'Tis the @#$%-ing Season will play at the Lion Theatre (Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street) from December 9th through 21st; previews are on December 7th and 8th.

The cast includes Tom Butler*, Amy Goldberger*, Brian M. Golub*, Laura Heisler* (currently in A Mother, a Daughter and a Gun), Charles Hendricks*, Robert Hoyt, Brent Langdon*, Rob Maitner*, Keira Naughton* (Broadway credits include The Rivals, Dance of Death and Three Sisters), Laura Perloe, and Byron St. Cyr.

"Producing together for the first time, Rachel Neuburger and kef productions challenged up–and–coming playwrights to create three original comedic pieces focused on the holidays. The result is 'Tis the @#$%-ing Season; a hilarious, edgy and insightful evening of theatre hosted by two–time OOBR Award Recipient Rob Maitner," according to press notes.

The three plays presented each evening are:

The First Annual St. Ignatius Chanukah Pageant, a musical by Williams/Rogers/Williams (Fleet Week – Best Musical, 2005 FringeNYC), directed by Jordana Williams

Chimping by Rogelio Martinez (Learning Curve - anthology, "New Playwrights: The Best Plays of 2005", NYFA Grant Recipient, Public Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Mark Taper Forum), directed by Lisa Rothe (Summer Play Festival, Voice and Vision, Culture Project)

Why Am I Attracted to Narcissists? – A Christmas Story by Kelly Stuart (Mayhem - The Summer Play Festival, The Life of Spiders - Culture Project, Guthrie Theater-commissioned playwright), directed by kef founding producer Adam Fitzgerald (Producer Crooked for Arielle Tepper's Summer Play Festival, recipient of the Brass Tacks Award for Outstanding Achievement in Directing).

Rachel Neuburger most recently served as the Artistic Director for The Summer Play Festival 2004 and 2005. Other producing credits include 3 Dark Tales, Texarkana Waltz and The Moonlight Room. kef productions is an independent producing company that helps small theatre companies and individual artists produce singular works. Rather than predetermine a season, kef productions looks for individual projects fueled by the desire of the artists.

Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 PM.
