Timothy Hutton has boarded James Franco's upcoming film THE LONG HOME, starring Josh Hutcherson and based on William Gay's novel." target="_blank">Variety writes that Timothy Hutton has boarded James Franco's upcoming film THE LONG HOME, starring Josh Hutcherson and based on William Gay's novel.

THE LONG HOME "is set in rural Tennessee in the 1940s, where a young man (Hutcherson) goes to work building a honky-tonk for a charismatic and diabolical bootlegger, unaware that the man had murdered his father 10 years prior. He runs into further trouble when he falls for the young woman the bootlegger is grooming to be a prostitute."

In addition to his directing duties, Franco will likely star and produce the film.

No word yet which role Hutton will play.

Hutton can currently be seen in the new TV series AMERICAN CRIME. Among his other recent small screen credits are LEVERAGE and KIDNAPPED. The actor last appeared on the big screen in LOUDER THAN WORDS. He has also starred on Broadway in PRELUDE TO A KISS and LOVE LETTERS.
