Houston-based indie 4-piece The Tontons announce today they will release their much-anticipated new full-length album on February 18th entitled "Make Out King and Other Stories of Love." The 11-track album was produced and mixed at Austin's Church House Studios by Dave Boyle (Black Joe Lewis, Okkervill River, Robert Plant) and features "Veida," the album's first single that the Wall Street Journal calls "a taut rocker that pairs bold guitars with [Asli] Omar's rich, sultry voice."

Performing over 300 shows over the past 3 years, this relentlessly gigging band is releasing an album that represents their shared journey - from playing dive bars to now playing major festivals like Fun Fun Fun Fest, The Hangout Fest, Canada's Pop Montreal, CMJ Music Marathon, SXSW, Paste's Untapped Festival, Free Press Summerfest and more. Lead singer, Asli Omar, explains "'Make Out King' is more than just an album to us. It's 3 years of growth and change. It's touring across America. It's playing in places that we never thought we would see. It's our story and we hope that, for everyone who takes the time to listen, it will become part of their story too."

The Tontons will celebrate their album announcement on New Year's Eve performing Live in Dallas at BIG D NYE 2014, presented by GMC, the largest New Year's Eve celebration in the Central Time Zone. The Tontons will perform an hour-long set for 35,000 attendees at Victory Park, broadcast live by ABC affiliate WFAA-TV to more than 600,000 viewers in North Texas alone, and in over 25 syndicated television markets throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Alabama, Florida and New Mexico. The Tontons will take the stage from 8:45 PM - 9:45 PM CST followed by Green River Ordinanceand headliners Delta Rae. For more information, visit: http://bigdnye.com/.

Beyond major music festivals and this year's Big D NYE, The Tontons have shared the stage with some of indie music's finest including Dawes, Kurt Vile & The Violators, State Radio, The Walkmen, and even P. Diddy. The band is an official Red Bull Sound Select Artist and most recently have been featured on PASTE (Top 15 Bands to See at CMJ 2013), MySpace (ONETOWATCH Sessions), Refinery29, Daytrotter, The Lennon Bus at the Hangout Fest, Brite Revolution, Hype Machine and more!

A band since 2007, The Tontons are fronted by Omar, whose old-soul vocals heave the band's lyrics forward with empowering, sultry and emotional force. Flanking her is bassist Tom Nguyen, armed with a nimble rumble that forms the sturdy dermis of the band. Brothers Adam and Justin Martinez's titanic guitar-and-drum attack are the dance-ready glue. Omar's voice seems to melt like butter into the cracks of the Earth that the foursome create.

The Tontons will release Make Out King and Other Stories of Love on February 18th. The first single, "Veida" is now available on the iTunes store http://bit.ly/VeidaiTunes. For details visit www.thetontons.com.
