Garth Taylor (The Rooks) joins the cast of Dust Can't Kill Me. Garth will play opposite the previously announced Elizabeth A. Davis and Kathryn Gallagher in a concert presentation of Dust Can't Kill Me: a new folk musical by Abigail Carney and Elliah Heifetz.

The concert will be recorded for The Score, a new podcast focused on new musicals, live at Le Poisson Rouge on Monday, October 10th; showtimes are 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Tickets are $20.

Taylor joins the returning cast from the NYMF hit production. Tony Award nominee Elizabeth A. Davis (Once) plays Angelina, for which she won the NYMF Award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role for her portrayal. Broadway vet and singer-songwriter Kathryn Gallagher (Deaf West's Spring Awakening) plays Lily. Also in the cast are Paul Hinkes as The Preacher, Michael Castillejos as Birch, and up-and-comer Adrian Blake Enscoe, who received NYMF honors for his performance as Abraham. The talented cast of actor-musicians also acts as the band.

Dust Can't Kill Me features a book by Abigail Carney, music and lyrics by Elliah Heifetz, and is directed by Srda Vasiljevic. Music direction and orchestrations are by Max Gordon, with additional arrangements by DJ Stanfill. The evening will be stage managed by Louisa Pough and Emily Cates, and produced by Ethan Karetsky and The Score.

Drought, desperation, and a prophet's promise of Paradise set a ragtag group of wayward souls on a Dust Bowl journey into the desert. But when they arrive, their promised land is unlike anything they ever imagined or even desired. "Vitality marks every musical moment" (The New York Times) in this bold new folk musical, directed with an inspired vision by SPRING AWAKENING's Srda Vasiljevic and bringing audiences "a sound that should be heard in the theater more often" (TheaterMania). The winner of five New York Musical Festival awards including Best Music and Outstanding Ensemble, DUST CAN'T KILL ME asks what's worth fighting for when all you've got is dust.

Le Poisson Rouge is located at 158 Bleecker St, New York, New York 10012. To purchase tickets to the 7 PM show: http://bit.ly/2d77Pm8; 9:30 PM show: http://bit.ly/2dqxjvd.

Garth Taylor is a vocalist originally from Laurel, MD, just north of Washington, D.C. A relative newcomer to the musical theater world, Garth is part of an Indie-Soul/R&B band, The Rooks, with whom he just completed a summer tour across the U.S. The Rooks are equal parts kick-back, head-knock, and get-down; the music you rock to at the party, and the perfect soundtrack for the ride home.A transplant from the Wesleyan University music scene, The Rooks have spent the last four years making noise from coast to coast, gaining substantial recognition for their debut EP, Something You Can Take (May 2013), follow-up single "Twister" (Jan 2014) and releases "Secrets" and "Intermission (Wires)" (both premiered on Okayplayer). Hard-hitting performances at Irving Plaza, Mercury Lounge and Brooklyn Bowl, as well as highly successful residencies at Arlene's Grocery and Pianos NYC (second highest grossing residency in venue history) have earned them further acclaim, including Deli Magazine's Artist of the Month award (Feb 2014) and recent win of the 14th Annual Independent Music Awards in the R&B/Soul category, finally providing their parents with a tangible means of bragging about their children. The Rooks happily released their second EP, Wires, on Afropunk in June 2015, and having just completed their first U.S. tour, are currently booking shows through the end of 2016 and beyond.
