The Moscow Festival Ballet presents the full-length ballet: Don Quixote at the Van Wezel tonight, February 27, 2014. The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 when legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sergei Radchenko, sought to realize his vision of a company which would bring together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new company within the framework of Russian classic ballet.

Don Quixote the ballet is based on an episode taken from the Spanish novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. The novel was first published in 1605 and is considered an extremely influential piece of literature. The ballet follows the story of the main characters in the novel, nobleman Don Quixote and his comic sidekick-squire, Sancho Panza. The two men set out on a knightly quest to revive chivalry; they lead a well-known cast of characters from Cervantes' novel through this classic ballet love story.

The highly entertaining and beautifully casted characters take the audience on a high-speed adventure through the elaborate and eccentric world of Don Quixote with his elusive romantic quest for true love. With exquisitely skilled dancers under expert direction and a much loved classic story, Don Quixote the ballet continues to win adoration from audiences around the world.

Tickets are priced from $35-$65. For more information, call the Box Office at 941-953-3368 or visit www.VanWezel.org
