THE LITTLE MERMAID Receives Two Awards in Moscow

At the 2014 Golden Mask National Theatre Awards held on 18 April in Moscow, The Little Mermaid received the Best Production Award in the category Best Operetta/ Musical Production. Manana Gogitidze, who played Ursula in The Little Mermaid , took top honours by winning the Best Actress Award. Stage Entertainment Russia produced Disney's musical The Little Mermaid at the Rossia Theatre in Moscow. The production premiered on 6 October 2012 and ran until 13 April 2014.

The Golden Mask is the annual National Theatre Award established in 1994 by the Theatre Union of Russia for productions in all genres of theatre art: drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta, musical, and puppet theatre. Each year the award ceremony is enjoyed by tens of thousands of people, and 2014 marks the festival's 20th anniversary.

This prestigious Russian cultural event also marked the launch of The Phantom of the Opera which will be produced by Stage Entertainment at the MDM Theatre in Moscow. The Phantom of the Opera premiere will take place on 4 October.
During last week's ceremony-broadcast on national Russian television-a beautifully moving preview of The Phantom was presented on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The performance included artists from the German, British and Russian casts of The Phantom, accompanied by the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra and chorus.
