Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with your favorite Broadway stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Kyle Scatliffe, who stars as 'Harpo' in The Color Purple, playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

The first show I ever saw was Aida. I believe Deborah Cox and Adam Pascal were leading the show when I saw it. The crazy thing is that Aida also ended up being not only my first professional job but my first equity contract. Full circle.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Yoga. Yoga. Yoga. Any yoga stretch that I can do to open up my lungs and warm my body up. If my door is locked at half hour everyone knows what's happening haha.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

When I was in Les Miz I had tonsillitis and addenoiditis that snuck up on me. So with that comes chronic laryngitis where your voice just decides to disappear randomly. When I say I was on the barricade and my voice disappeared, I mean I was on the barricade and my voice disappeared. I practically whispered the rest of the scene on pitch.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

The Bus/Dryer in Caroline or, Change. It's one of my favorite parts, played by one of my favorite actors (Chuck Cooper), in one of my favorite shows.

Who is your Broadway crush?

Kelli O'Hara. She is literally majestic. The definition of truth on stage.
