The Staten Island Children's Museum will host the TD Bank Mobile Forest on its grounds for a day of environmental awareness and activities. Environmental education and responsible stewardship of our earth are central themes of the Museum's mission to nurture the curiosity natural to all children, and to emphasize direct and hands-on experiences.

The TD Mobile Forest is an eco- friendly truck that will provide a serene escape, and teach visitors about conservation, protecting forests and using natural resources responsibly. As a component of TD Forests, the bank's flagship environmental program, the TD Mobile Forest, which contains real plants and trees, will travel throughout New York City communities to help make a sustainable impact.

The visiting exhibit ties in to the Museum's Green initiative, which includes a beautiful tented pavilion on the Meadow infused with solar panels, an energy- generating wind turbine on the Museum's roof as well as a new outdoor exhibit on the garden terrace.

Visitors to the TD Mobile Forest are encouraged to take and share photos from inside the forest, take home great literature about the environment and enjoy some fun give-a-ways (while supplies last).

The Mobile Forest will visit on Saturday, May 10, 2014, from 10 am to 5 pm, 1000 Richmond Terrace, in the East Lot adjacent to the Museum. Visits to the Mobile Forest are free for all visitors.
