Studio 42 will present a reading of the political farce THE DOPPELGÄNGER, by Matthew-Lee Erlbach (Handbook for an American Revolutionary, Eager to Lose), directed by Moritz Von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God, and the upcoming Verité at LCT3) on Sunday, Oct 5 at 7p.

A satire on resource politics, THE DOPPELGÄNGER is a farce set in Bangui, C.A.R. (Central African Republic), centering on a copper mine, and the fumbling multinational interests that seek to divide and conquer the region...before the region divides and conquers them.

When copper magnate Thomas Irdley suffers a heart attack moments before an international summit held at his estate mansion in Bangui, C.A.R, his old friend and lookalike - a kindergarten teacher who has left his job to discover himself on a walkabout - is thrust into a colorful group of international elites, sex-hungry diplomats, a stairlift, and a high-stakes game of regional politics.

The cast features Marinda Anderson, Brad Bellamy (March Madness), Aimee Cucchiaro (The House of Von Macrame), Aaron Costa Ganis (The Mnemonist of Dutchess County), Rachel Mewbron (BAM's The Master Builder), Eugene Oh (HBO's Veep), Natalie Saibel (Studio 42's The Sporting Life), Carolyn Michelle Smith (Romeo & Juliet with Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad), Nick Westrate (Casa Valentina), and more.

The free of charge reading will take place 7p on Sunday October 5 at A.R.T/NY, Third Floor/ Studio B, 520 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018.
