New York's Own Action Heroes and stars of the filmBorn To Fly, are looking for a few good women and men. Auditions are September 17 through 19th at SLAM, 51 North 1st Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

STREB is looking for performers for full and part time, paid positions for rehearsal and performance in New York, the US and abroad. STREB EXTREME ACTION COMPANY is the subject of the Catherine Gund's acclaimed documentary, BORN TO FLY, which has its NY opening at the Film Forum on September 10th. Since its inception in 1985, STREB has traveled, artistically as well as geographically, from the heights of the experimental dance world to the cutting-edge of popular entertainment including Late Night with David Letterman, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and on the facade of Bergdorf Goodman in New York. STREB was commissioned to participate in the London 2012 Festival. On One Extraordinary Day (July 15, 2012), from dawn to midnight, STREB dancers performed 7 action events across major London landmarks including the Millennium Bridge, Trafalgar Square and ending with HUMAN EYE, where 32 daring STREB Action Heroes performed a spoke-dance on the towering, iconic landmark of The London Eye.

WHEN: Auditions take place Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 17th, 18th and 19th 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Please arrive no later than 11:30 AM to register and warm up. Attendees MUST be prepared to attend all 3 days of the audition in order to be considered for a position. There is no prior registration. WHERE: STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) 51 N 1st Street (between Kent & Wythe Avenues) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY 11249 (L train to Bedford Ave. stop)

WHO: We are interested in seeing people with professional-level training in any form of ACTION including dancers, acrobats, athletes, gymnasts, martial artists, etc. You must be comfortable with physical heights, impact, falls, and extreme aerobic activity. Strong Modern/ Ballet technique is encouraged. Tumbling experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

Please bring:
- Clothes you find comfortable and easy to move in.
- dance shoes or gymnastics shoes (basically shoes you can run/ jump/ dance in) if you have them
- A performance resume AND a general resume reflecting any other kind of professional work you have done or skills you may possess.
- A recent photo or headshot.
