The German cast of ROCKY, led by Drew Sarich, just celebrated its first year on stage in Hamburg, and in the video, go behind the scenes of the special celebration!

Rocky, Sylvester Stallone's Oscar-winning underdog story-has inspired an innovative new stage production, brought to extraordinary life by a five-time Tony Award-winning creative team, including director Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher), book writer Thomas Meehan (The Producers) and songwriting team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty(Ragtime).

In Germany, American actor Sarich leads the cast as Rocky Balboa, joined by Dutch actressWietske van Tongerenas Adrian. Rocky won the 1977 Oscar for Best Picture, Best Director (John G. Avildsen) and Best Film Editing. It was nominated for Best Original Song, Best Original Screenplay and Best Sound. Sylvester Stallone, who was on hand to promote the event, and Talia Shire were nominated as lead actors; Burt Young and Burgess Meredith were nominated for their supporting roles.

ROCKY opens on Broadway on March 13, 2014, and will be led by Andy Karl (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Jersey Boys) as the title character and Margo Seibert, who will make her Broadway debut as Adrian. Preview performances begin on February 11 at the historic Winter Garden Theatre.
