World renowned tenor Anthony Kearns sang Amazing Grace a cappella when the National Memorial Day Parade (300,000 spectators) in Washington, D.C. came to a complete stop for a Moment of Remembrance for those who have fallen in the line of duty.

"I'm honored to be a part of this remembrance ceremony for those who have answered the clarion call, especially on this hallowed day," said Kearns, who dedicated the song to American soldiers who died defending freedom. Composed by John Newton over two hundred years ago, Amazing Grace is one of the most compelling songs in the English language, he said.

Other parade participants included General Peter Pace, 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who served as Grand Marshal. Honorary Marshals were Gary Sinise, star of CSI: New York, and Joe Mantegna, leading actor in Criminal Minds. The parade's Reviewing Officer was General James Amos, Assistant Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps. www.nationalmemorialdayparade.com.
