The Royal Conservatory announced recently a Tribute Concert to honour Des McAnuff, Broadway's Canadian visionary director and Tony Award-winner.

Performers include stars from Stratford Shakespeare Festival's Jesus Christ Superstar, Josh Young, Paul Nolan, Chilina Kennedy, and stars from the Canadian cast of Jersey Boys, with music from Des's productions, including How to Succeed in Business, Tommy, Dracula, Jersey Boys, and Jesus Christ Superstar.

McAnuff was previously Artistic Director of the La Jolla Playhouse. There, he directed Romeo and Juliet, Big River, Macbeth, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Twelfth Night, The Who's Tommy and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, among others. In 2007, he became artistic director of Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

Gala tickets at $150.00 include concert and champagne reception with the stars after the show. Funds will go to the Des McAnuff Scholarship awards at the Ryerson Theatre School. A tax receipt for a portion will be issued after the concert.

Some upper balcony seats are available for $50.00 (performance only). The event is set for October 23 at 7pm. For more information, visit the Royal Conservatory website.
