One of off-Broadway's biggest successes, Nunsense (book, music, and lyrics by Dan Goggin), is coming to Williamstown's own Grand Theatre, thanks to the Road Company. The show-or perhaps, more appropriately, the showcase-features five of the surviving nuns from Little Sisters of Hoboken and their humble fundraiser talent show. Nunsense runs March 13 - March 23, 2014 (Thursdays at 7pm; Friday and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 2pm) and tickets range from $22-$25 with discounts for seniors, students and groups. Performances are in the Grand Theatre, located at 405 S. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Tickets are available at www.RoadCompany.com or 856-728-2120. Please see the Fact Sheet below for more details.

Nunsense is a musical comedy that lovingly reminds us that none of us is a saint, except maybe for the saints. The show features singing and dancing, a few terrible but forgivable puns, and so much silliness that you won't even see it coming when the heart-warming moments sneak up and rap you on the knuckles. The ladies pull out all the stops to honor their convent, even in the face of tragedy.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken suffer a terrible disaster when their cook accidentally serves a tainted cream soup and kills most of the convent. Through the grace of God, and a fortunate game of bingo, nineteen of the fifty-two nuns escape a deadly case of botulism. The remaining nuns can afford to bury all but 4 of the deceased, which prompts Mother Superior and a few lucky sisters to put on a high-performance fundraiser in the Mount Saint Helen Middle School Auditorium. Helmed by Reverend Mother-a no-nonsense leader and an excellent judge of character (and talent)-the show is full of singing, dancing, and a few jokes that will amuse the hell out of you.

Road Company regulars will definitely recognize a few familiar names in the production team. Director John Blackwell and Producer Paula Farrar reunite (Gypsy, 2013 season) to bring the off-Broadway hit to life at the Grand Theatre. Following on the heels of Spamalot, Nunsense promises to keep the Road Company's momentum high in its 2014 season.
