Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT), the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre in downtown Gettysburg, announces its 7th Season.

Located in the old Elks Lodge at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, Gettysburg Community Theatre produces musicals year round with actors of all ages 4-Adults including a theatre production starring youth with special needs, and another production with an entire cast of senior citizens ages 55+. Whether it be on stage, or behind the scenes volunteering, there truly is a place for everyone at GCT.

GCT opens its 2015 "Season Of Love" with the musical RENT January 23-February 1. This Tony Award & Pultizer Prize-Winning pop rock opera contains mature themes and strong language.

February 20-22 GCT will present their newly formed Senior Citizen actors troupe in Fiddler On The Roof jr. with special permission from Music Theatre International.

Then on February 28th for one night only, GCT presents A Songwriter's Showcase starring two local area favorites Brian Colgan and Jessie Adams singing their original music.

Next on the line up will be quite a busy March when GCT hosts the Pennsylvania Association of Community Theatres' State Festival 2015 March 13-15, where community theatres from across the state will present their one act shows for adjudication and consideration to be advanced on to the Regional and possibly also the National Festival too.

No rest for GCT though as they will then present their production of Children Of Eden on March 20-29, which is a musical based on the book of Genesis.

April 17-26 will be a new all-youth cast version of The Sound Of Music at GCT, and then May 8th and 9th GCT will present their Penguin Project production of Disney's High School Musical jr. at Hanover High School Auditorium. The Penguin Project production features a cast of youth ages 8-21 with special needs as the stars along with peer mentors of the same age assisting them on stage together.

GCT will present the Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite Carousel June 12-21 and the Lerner and Loewe classic Camelot August 14-23.

The fall will begin with the children's musicals Princess Whatshername on September 25-27, and Aesop's Fables October 16-18.

Then GCT will produce the Irving Berlin classic Annie Get Your Gun November 13-22, before closing out the 2015 season with the newly released stage musical version of A Charlie Brown Christmas December 3-13.

GCT also welcomes adults that would like to volunteer in any way for the theatre. The Penguin Project is also an excellent project for students in National Honor Society and Key Club Members, for community service, and for Senior Graduation projects.
