The upcoming ZORRO will feature "a new backstory, gritty realism and emotional core", as well as "swordplay, combined with the martial arts that came from Europe and created a deadly combination of action and lethal fighting systems that combined swords, daggers, grappling and bare knuckles".

Chris Boal's plays include Crazy for the Dog, as well as The Continuing Adventures of Dick Danger, Bad Guys Don't Know Dick The Musical, A Hope for This World, Digs, Order, Low Life and more. He also wrote two issues of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic book.

Chris Boal is the brother of The Hurt Locker's Mark Boal. Chris recently adapted the novel Old Man's War for Paramount, Vanguard and Caesar for Warner Bros, and Atlas.
