Through the generosity of the producers of Nice Work If You Can Get It, two hundred (200) NYC public middle school students and their teachers were treated to the Tony-Award winning production on Broadway starring Matthew Broderick and Jessie Mueller. Following the Wednesday Matinee on May 1st, these Shubert/MTI Broadway Junior students sang a "duet" of Gershwin's classic "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" with Broderick and Mueller at an exclusive post-show talkback. Scroll below for a panoramic shot of the students at the theater!

In partnership with the NYC Department of Education's Office of Arts and Special Projects, The Shubert Foundation/MTI Broadway Jr. provides musical theater and arts education to over 25 NYC public middle schools to help them build sustainable arts education programs for their school communities.

The event enabled these students to experience professional theater performances and production at the highest level. From experiencing the show to speaking with the leads, the stage manager and members of the Orchestra, students learned about the many facets of Broadway theater as well as the many career opportunities associated with theater.

In attendance were: Dr. Dorita Gibson Deputy Chancellor of Access and Equity, NYCDOE; Laura Feijoo, Senior Superintendent, NYCDOE; Paul King, Executive Director, NYCDOE Arts Office; and Peter Avery Director of Theater, NYCDOE Arts Office.
