Photo Flash: Cast and Crew Portraits - DCTC's SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL

The Denver Center Theatre Company's (DCTC) world premiere production of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by Jeffrey Haddow and music by Neal Hampton, is being staged by director and choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose recent Broadway revival of Ragtime received seven Tony Award nominations. SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL is currently running in its world premiere production through tonight, May 26, 2013. Starring in the pivotal sister roles are Stephanie Rothenberg as Elinor and Mary Michael Patterson as Marianne.

Nick Verina, seen as Young Ben in the recent Broadway revival of Follies with Bernadette Peters, will take on the role of love-struck Edward; Jeremiah James, who starred as Billy Bigelow in the West End revival of Carousel and as Curly in the first national tour of Oklahoma!, will portray the cad Willoughby; and Robert Petkoff, Broadway's recent Lord Evelyn Oakleigh opposite Sutton Foster in Anything Goes, will be the upstanding Colonel Brandon.

Additional Broadway talent joining the cast includes Ed Dixon (Anything Goes, Sunday in the Park with George, Mary Poppins, How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Sir John; Ruth Gottschall (Mary Poppins, The Music Man, Funny Thing...Forum) as Mrs. Jennings, and Joanna Glushak (Sunday in the Park with George, Urinetown, LES MISERABLES) as Mrs. Dashwood/Mrs. Ferrars.

The ensemble will include Andrew Kober, Preston Dyar, Josh Walden, Stacie Bono, Liz Pearce, Trista Moldovan, Jason Watson, Jessica Hershberg, Steven Strafford, and Daniella Dalli.

The production boasts a formidable production team, including Set Designer Allen Moyer, Tony nominee for Grey Gardens; Costume Designer ESosa, 2012 Tony nominee for The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and "Project Runway" finalist; acclaimed Lighting Designer James F. Ingalls; Sound Design by Craig Breitenbach (world premiere of The Laramie Project); Music Supervisor David Loud, whose recent Broadway productions include The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and The Scottsboro Boys; Music Director and Conductor Paul Masse, whose Broadway credits include The Scottsboro Boys, as well as Curtains, Chicago, Avenue Q, 42nd Street, and Gypsy, and Orchestrations are by Kim Scharnberg and Neal Hampton.

Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson selected SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL after it became a runaway hit at the 2012 Colorado New Play Summit. SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL is based on the novel by Jane Austen. Book and lyrics by Jeffrey Haddow, Music by Neal Hampton. Directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

Petkoff (photographer/cast member) recently starred as King Arthur in the TUTS production of CAMELOT, which ran January-February in 2013. Robert Starred in ANYTHING GOES on Broadway as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, a love interest for brassy Reno Sweeney (played by Tony Award winner Sutton Foster), in the Roundabout Theatre production of ANYTHING GOES at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre at 124 West 43rd Street in 2012. Robert performed as Buddy in FOLLIES with the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, directed by Gary Griffin, which closed on November 13, 2011. He starred on Broadway in the musical revival of RAGTIME, as Tateh, directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, which opened at the Neil Simon Theater in November 2009 and closed January 10, 2010. He joined the national tour of SPAMALOT, directed by Mike Nichols, as Sir Robin, and then played the role on Broadway at the Sam S. Shubert Theater. He was cast as Perchik in the Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON A ROOF, directed by David Leveaux, starring Alfred Molina and Harvey Fierstein. His first Broadway appearance was in EPIC PROPORTIONS starring Kirsten Chenoweth, at the Helen Hayes Theater, directed by Jerry Zaks.

His work off-Broadway includes The New York Premiere of AVOW by Bill Davis ,MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION and MORE STATELY MANSIONS directed by Ivo van Hove, the musical BLUE FLOWER at The Prospect Theatre Company and in 2009 he appeared in HAPPINESS at Lincoln Center, directed by Susan Stroman. Sir Peter Hall cast him in the starring role of Algernon in the national tour of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST with Lynn Redgrave, which was produced with the Theatre Royal Bath. Robert was also cast in Sir Peter Hall's production of THE ROYAL FAMILY at the Theater Royal Haymarket in London's West End where he appeared with Dame Judi Dench, Toby Stevens, and Emily Blunt.
