Broadway Records just announced that Patti LuPone's new live album, titled 'Far Away Places,' will be released on January 15. The album, which was recorded at LuPone's 54 Below show earlier this year, will be produced by six-time Grammy nominee, Robert Sher, who previously worked with Patti on the Gypsy 2008 Broadway Cast Recording.

LuPone wil present a special encore performance of her celebrated show, Far Away Places, at 54 Below. Backed by a five-piece orchestra, Ms. LuPone will perform a mixture of contemporary songs from the worlds of pop and Broadway, as well as a selection of Paris and Berlin cabaret songs from the 30's and 40's. At this very special performance, look for a few musical additions to Far Away Places, the show of which The New York Times said: "Ms. LuPone generates more raw excitement than any other performer on the Broadway and cabaret axis. Her brilliant show... certifies Ms. LuPone's place in the lineage of quirky international chanteuses like Lotte Lenya, Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf, who, like Ms. LuPone, conquered show business with forceful, outsize personalities while playing by their own musical rules." On New Year's Eve with Patti, Anything Goes!

54 BELOW is owned and operated by Tony Award winning producers Tom Viertel, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel, and Steven Baruch. Frankel said, "My partners and I are happy to add the live recording component to our 54 BELOW activities. It is exciting that some of the great performances will be available to audiences world wide."

The album is available for pre-order at Amazon.com
