Oscar Cabrera's new play, BONNET BLUES, will get a developmental reading March 20th at Lone Star Theatre Co. The reading, directed by Lou Moreno is part of their on-going Texas Reads series produced by artistic director David Davila.

BONNET BLUES centers around Hortencia, a seventy-two year old woman, who befriends a neighborhood girl who breaks her window with a baseball. But something isn't quite right with this young girl. What starts as a simple magic trick, gives her reason to question everything about what she knows. As Hortencia struggles with what is real, she must work against the clock to fix what is broken before it stays the same forever.

The play features Nicholas Robert Ortiz, Gilbert Cruz, Monica Steuer, Danny Bolero, Mariana Newhard, and Andrea Abello.

Oscar A. L. Cabrera is a New York-based actor/playwright and member of INTAR Theater's Unit 52. His plays have been workshopped with The Hudson Warehouse, Black and Latino Playwrights Festival, INTAR Theater, and Rising Circle's InkTank.
Lone Star Theatre Co, now in it's fifth season is dedicated to bringing Texas Pages to New York Stages.

The free reading takes place March 20th at 6pm at Jack Demsey's (36 W 33rd St, New York, New York 10001). A reception will follow.
