D'Jamin Bartlett, who originated the role of Petra in A Little Night Music, will perform in the new musical Rapunzel, running as part of the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival from August 11th through August 26th.  It will play the Manhattan Children's Theatre in Brooklyn.

"The witch. The tower. The big hair. When a classic fairy tale comes to life in their living room, two children try to 'fix' it," according to the FringeNYC website.  Holley Barlett, the daughter of the star, is one of Rapunzel's composers.  The show is written by Karen Rousso, Judy Dulberg and Kerry Wolf, with music by Rousso and Bartlett.

Rousso also directs the show, which will be choreographed by Brian Swasey.  Long Over 'Do Productions presents Rapunzel.

Bartlett won a Drama Desk Award, as well as a Theatre World Award, for her performance as Petra in the original Broadway cast of A Little Night Music.  She has also been seen on Broadway in the 1975 musical Boccaccio, as well as Off-Broadway in The Glorious Age and 2 by 5.

The show plays: Friday, August 11 at 5 PM, Sunday, August 13 at 7pm,  Friday, August 18 at 6:30pm, Sunday, August 19th at PM, and Saturday, August 26 at 2:45 pm.
