Rick Crom's Newsical at Upstairs at Studio 54 (located at 254 West 54th Street) announces the much anticipated release of the show's first cast album! CD's can be purchased at www.newsicalthemusical.com, at the box office, and soon at a music store near you. All of your favorite songs from the show's first edition (as you know, the show is constantly being updated) include "Martha Stewart The Mini-Musical", "Nobody Messes with Liza", "Felt Up At The Airport" and much, much more. All of the funniest songs are packed in on this new $20 audio CD.

Additionally, Newsical announces that the indomitable talents of Trish Rapier (performed the role of Liza Minelli in The Boy From Oz, a regular of Forbidden Broadway/ Hollywood, starred in Golf: the Musical and was the winner of the Carol Burnett Award and The Spotlight Award of the Los Angeles Music Center) and Jim Newman (on Broadway: Minnelli on Minnelli – cast album and Steel Pier – cast album, as well as Sunset Boulevard and The Who's Tommy) will be joining the cast, replacing Kim Cea and Jeff Skowron. They will be joining remaining cast members Stephanie Kurtzuba (The Boy From Oz on Broadway, The Joys of Sex and Bat Boy Off-Broadway) and Todd Alan Johnson (Aida on Broadway).

Newsical, "The latest in political entertainment that has the advantage of being genuinely funny and consistently entertaining" (Gay City News) that "pulls no punches as it ridicules W. and Kerry, Liza and Martha, Michael Jackson and Michael Moore with catchy, well-placed jabs" (Village Voice) was created by veteran musical satirist and comedian Rick Crom (Composer and Lyricist). Rick has created many Off-Broadway and cabaret revues including Oh Fine RSVP, The Subject Was Neurosis, Absolutely Rude, Our Life and Times (1999 MAC & Bistro Awards for Outstanding Musical Revue) and What in the World (2003 Nightlife Award). His topical material is also featured at the Crystal Palace Theatre in Aspen.
