Variety reports that Natalie Portman will take on the role of Jackie Kennedy in JACKIE, an upcoming film which centers on "the first four days in Jackie Kennedy's life after the assassination of her husband, President John. F. Kennedy, when she lost the love of her life but won the love of a nation." Pablo Larrain is set to direct with Darren Aronofsky producing. Filming is set to get underway at the end of 2015.

Wild Bunch's newly launched sales company Insiders is selling the international rights. Commented Wild Bunch's Vincent Maraval, who is overseeing Insiders, " 'Jackie' talks about the days when Jackie Kennedy becomes an icon but has lost everything."

Oscar-winner Portman makes her directorial debut with A TALE OF LOVE AND DARKNESS, out next week at Cannes, and will soon appear in WEIGHTLESS and JANE GOT A GUN. She is also producing PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES. Among her recent films are KNIGHT OF CUPS, THOR: THE DARK WORLD, NO STRINGS ATTACHED, I'M STILL HERE, BLACK SWAN and more.

The actress also starred on Broadway in THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK back in 1997 and appeared at the Public in THE SEAGULL in 2001.
