The Long Beach Playhouse (LBP) will host of AACT's 2014 winter meeting reception. AACT is an organization dedicated to supporting and developing community theatres throughout the United States. The winter meeting brings together the organization's board of directors and committees to report on their goals and progress.

The business meetings will take place at the Fairmont Newport Beach hotel. On Friday, February 21, following the scheduled committee meetings, there will be a hosted reception at the LBP, (located at 5021 Anaheim in Long Beach) in its downstairs gallery and solarium. In addition to the conference attendees, community theatre staff, patrons and volunteers from throughout southern California are invited to attend.

In addition to the networking, the hosted evening reception includes refreshments, and an opportunity to learn more about both The Playhouse and AACT. The LBP is the oldest continuously operating community Theatre West of the Mississippi. Founded in February 1929, it is spending 2014 celebrating its 85th anniversary.

The LBP is committed to supporting actors and theatre professionals in many ways including its support of AACT, its annual New Works Festival and its "Collaborative" which gives any small local theater company the chance to use its upstairs Studio for productions at no cost other than a split of the ticket sales.
