GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter and children's author Lisa Loeb will be in New York City for the March 21st opening of Camp Kappawanna at Atlantic Theater Company, and to perform a benefit concert for Michael's Fund at BB King's on March 28th. Loeb will also appear at Vision Expo, an eyewear trade show, presenting new styles in her Lisa Loeb Eyewear collection.

Atlantic for Kids presents the New York premiere of Camp Kappawanna, a new family musical featuring music and lyrics by Loeb along with Michelle Lewis and Dan Petty, directed by Atlantic Acting School Artistic Director Alison Beatty, choreographed by MK Lawson (Mr. Chickee's Funny Money) with musical direction by Nate Weida (Ivy + Bean The Musical). The new musical's book is by Marco Ramirez, Cusi Cram and Peter Hirsch. It debuts on Saturday, March 21 at 10:30 pm, and will run every weekend through Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Atlantic Theater Company, The Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20 Street between 8 and 9 Avenues in New York City). Tickets are available HERE. Lisa will appear to greet fans and attend the premiere on March 21st. Following the misadventures of Jennifer Jenkins, an awkward and adorable 12-year-old kid, Camp Kappawanna portrays the fear and excitement of leaving home for the first time. This lighthearted musical, inspired by Lisa Loeb's own nostalgic summer camp memories, has an acoustic sound that will take you back to nights spent around the camp fire.

Then, on March 28th, Lisa Loeb helps raise funds to beat a rare disease. Don't miss her concert featuring The Prescriptions, a NYC-based rock band of practicing physicians. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit The Michael Clapcich Fund (http://michaelsfund.org/), to support medical research. As band member Dr. Anthony Clapcich (a Columbia University pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist) remarks, the band "studies every molecule of our songs, delivering them with surgical precision." Over the years, The Prescriptions have raised more than $75,000 via benefit concerts. All proceeds directly benefit research into this rare and devastating disease at the National Institutes of Health, thereby laying the groundwork for treatment breakthroughs for a number of health issues. Orphan diseases like CblC Defect afflict fewer than 200,000 individuals, and so medical research has lagged far behind other areas due to technological and funding limitations. Benefit concert tickets are available HERE.

More about Lisa Loeb - Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb started her career with the platinum-selling Number 1 hit song "Stay (I Missed You)" from the film Reality Bites. To this day, she is still the only artist to have a Number 1 single while not signed to a recording contract, a remarkable and unparalleled feat for an unsigned artist. Lisa continues to craft irresistible pop songs for the 21st century, while designing eyewear, writing children's books, and supporting non-profit causes.
