Fresh off his record-setting and multiple Tony Award-winning star/writer/director turn in "Hamilton" on Broadway, Lin-Manuel Miranda has taken on something of a passion project: a fundraising video for Yeshiva University.

The video is in support of YU's a $5 million "Charidy Day" (Day of Giving) initiative via social media. On September 20 and 21, students, alumni, faculty and friends of Yeshiva University will dream big and attempt to raise $5 million to collectively transform lives and continue to impact the world at large. For the first 24 hours of the event every contribution will be quadrupled. Learn more at www.charidy.com/IamYU. #IamYU

Miranda has a storied association with the University. In 2009, at age 29, he became the youngest ever recipient of an honorary doctorate from YU. His parents are both active leaders in Washington Heights, where he grew up, and have long supported the University in the community.. His mother is an assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Miranda, himself, has given several guest lectures at YU.
