A number of leading composers and lyricists have contributed to the Works & Process celebration of the accaimed Irish poet Paul Muldoon (1951- ). The event, which will feature Darius DeHaas performing the musical settings, will take place on Sunday, October 2nd and Monday, October 3rd at 8 PM at the Guggenheim Museum (1071 Fifth Avenue, between 88th and 89th Streets).

The poet will read from his work and take part in a discussion moderated by John Harrington (Dean of the School of Humanities, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). The program will present the world premiere of four musical settings of Muldoon's poems. Michael John LaChiusa (See What I Wanna See, The Wild Party) has contributed "Hard Drive," Kirsten Childs (Miracle Brothers, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin) has put "The Coney" to music, Stephen Flaherty (Dessa Rose, Ragtime) will be represented with "A Collegelands Catechism"), and Jeff Blumenkrantz (Urban Cowboy) has contributed "Myself and Pangur." The works will be performed by de Haas (Marie Christine, Rent, Carousel) with Steve Marzullo, piano and Peter Donovan, bass.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim is an ongoing performing-arts series investigating the creative process by presenting new works with discussion among artistic collaborators. Works & Process at the Guggenheim was founded in 1984 by producer Mary Sharp Cronson.

Tickets for the event are $24 ($18 for members, students, and seniors). Supporting Guggenheim Associates and Patrons Circle members are admitted free with reservations.

To order, call the Box Office at 212 423 3587, Monday-Friday, 1-5 PM or visit the Guggenheim Museum. There is a $2 per ticket handling fee for all non-subscription orders. The box office opens one hour prior to each performance. Tickets may be purchased at the door as space allows.
