Kristin Chenoweth to Play DeVito's Wife in Holiday Movie

Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth--currently seen in the big screen comedy R.V.--has signed on to another family movie.

She will join Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick in Regency Enterprises' upcoming film Deck the Halls, according to a Reuters article. Directed by John Whitesell and written by Matt Corman, Chris Ord and Don Rhymer, the holiday movie concerns two neighbors who spar over one's decision to put up so many Christmas lights that his house will be almost visible from space. Chenoweth will play the wife of DeVito's character.

R.V.--in which Chenoweth plays a peppy camper--is a box office hit, having placed in the #2 spot this week. The film has earned $31 million so far. Chenoweth--who was previously seen in Bewitched and The Pink Panther--is also set to appear in the upcoming films Running with Scissors (based on the Augusten Burroughs memoir), Stranger Than Fiction, Asphalt Beach and Rapunzel Unbraided.

The performer, who was nominated for a Tony for her performance as Glinda in Wicked and who won for her Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, has also appeared on stagfe in Scapin, A New Brain, Steel Pier, Epic Proportions, in the Lincoln Center concert production of Candide, and the Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and The Apple Tree. "As I Am" and "Let Yourself Go" are her two solo CDs. She also plays Annabeth Schott on TV's "The West Wing."
