On Friday evening, June 14th, Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. will offer "AN ENCHANTED EVENING," a celebration of the Center and its contribution to the arts and cultural life of our community. This special fundraising event will be hosted by the celebrated actress, Kerry Washington, a Bronx native, known for her lead role as Olivia Pope in the current television drama Scandal and major roles in such films as Django Unchained, Last King of Scotlandand Ray. Ms. Washington will be joined by her Scandal co-star Norm Lewis, acclaimed for his recent Broadway success in Porgy and Bess. Chris Gillespie and musicians, who regularly perform at New York City's Carlyle Hotel just as the late Bobby Short once did, will round out the evening.

At 6:30 PM, there will be a private reception in the Concert Hall lobby with hors d'oeuvres and desserts provided by Babalu Restaurant in the Bronx. At 8:00 PM, guests will take their seats on the Concert Hall stage to enjoy an intimate evening of music and celebrity interviews.

Contributions to support Lehman Center are $125 per person. Onstage seating is limited and advance tickets are required. Tickets may be purchased in one of three ways: online at: www.lehmancenter.org, by telephone at 718-960-8833, or in person at the Concert Hall Box Office (open 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and on weekends when performances are scheduled). Contributions to Lehman Center are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was established in 1980 to provide the residents of the Bronx and surrounding communities with access to affordable, culturally-diverse music, dance and theatre performances that entertain, educate, and inspire. The Center's 2,310-seat Concert Hall, the largest professional venue in the borough, showcases the work of international, national and local performing artists and serves a diverse audience, including many senior citizens and young families with children.
