Judy Kuhn Offers a Master Class In Song Interpretation & Vocal Performance in NYC 10/19

Judy Kuhn, who recently starred on Broadway as Fantine in the revival of Les Misérables, will offer a Master Class in song interpretation and vocal performance at the acclaimed Michael Howard Studios in Manhattan.

The six-session course will be offered Monday afternoons October 19-November 23, 2009. Those interested should submit a headshot/resume to info@michaelhowardstudios.com.

The class is designed for the singing actor that focuses on song interpretation and vocal performance. Students work individually on material of their choice with Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn each class, as well as participate in group exercises. Students who take the class should come ready to play, feel free to experiment with material and take risks. Although this is not a vocal technique class, Judy will address individual technical concerns and make suggestions about how to approach working on them.

A three-time Tony Award nominee for her work in She Loves Me, Les Miserables and Chess, Judy Kuhn also starred in the concert mounting of Alan Menken and Tim Rice's King David and the Los Angeles premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard. Kuhn received an Obie Award for her work in the Off-Broadway Laura Nyro tribute, Eli's Comin', and played Fosca in the Kennedy Center mounting of Stephen Sondheim's Passion. Her solo recording is titled "Serious Playground - The Songs of Laura Nyro" (Ghostlight Records).

There is a $550 charge for the six-session course.
