Jordana Daumec And Skylar Campell Will Appear As Guest Artists In The Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's Production Of THE NUTCRACKER

JORDANA DAUMEC, first soloist of the National Ballet of Canada, and SKYLAR CAMPBELL, principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada, will appear as guest artists in the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's production of The Nutcracker on December 1 and 2, 2018 at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport, Louisiana.

JORDANA DAUMEC was born in New York City, New York and was trained at Studio Maestro in New York City, and at Canada's National Ballet School. Ms. Daumec joined the National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2003, and was promoted to First Soloist in 2015.

Her repertoire has included the roles of Lescaut's Mistress in Kenneth MacMillan's Manon, Princess Florine in Rudolf Nureyev's production of The Sleeping Beauty, Bronislava in John Neumeier's Nijinsky, and roles in Jerome Robbins' The Concert and Glass Pieces, George Balanchine's Theme and Variations, Symphony in C, Jewels, The Four Temperaments, and Allegro Brillante, and in works choreographed by John Cranko, Alexei Ratmansky, Will Tuckett, Crystal Pite, Alexander Ekman, James Kudelka, Stanton Welch, and Christopher Wheeldon.

Born in Laguna Beach, California, SKYLAR CAMPBELL received his ballet training under the guidance of Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky in Orange County, California. Mr. Campbell also studied with Kelly and Viktor Uygan, and David Allan. In 2009 Mr. Campbell was engaged as an apprentice by the National Ballet of Canada. In 2011 he joined the National's corps de ballet, was promoted to second soloist in 2013, and was appointed first soloist in 2015. In 2018 Mr. Campbell was appointed principal dancer.

Mr. Campbell's repertoire includes the roles of Peter/The Nutcracker in James Kudelka's The Nutcracker, Mercutio in Alexei Ratmansky's Romeo and Juliet, Alain in Sir Frederick Ashton's La Fille Mal Gardee, Kolia in Ashton's A Month in the Country, Lewis Caroll/White Rabbit in Christopher Wheeldon's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Florizel in Wheeldon's The Winter's Tale, the title role in John Neumeier's Nijinsky, the Prince in Guillaume Côté's Le Petit Prince, Hilarion in Peter Wright's production of Giselle, and the Bluebird in Rudolf Nureyev's production of The Sleeping Beauty. Mr. Campbell has also danced principal roles in Wayne McGregor's Genus, Alexander Ekman's Cacti, Guillaume Cote's Frame by Frame, and George Balanchine's Tarantella. Mr. Campbell has also appeared in ballets choreographed by Robert Binet, José Navas, Marco Goecke, Kevin O'Day, David Bombana, Wayne McGregor, Crystal Pite, Kenneth MacMillan, Jerome Robbins, John Cranko, William Forsythe, and Jorma Elo.

Mr. Campbell created the title role in Will Tuckett's Pinocchio, and a role in Robert Binet's The Dreamers Ever Leave You.

Mr. Campbell was awarded the Bronze Medal in the Pas de Deux category at the Youth American Grand Prix in 2009, and was a finalist in the Prix de Lausanne in 2009. He also won the MyTheatre Award for the Best Ballet Performance in Robert Binet's Unearth, and has been recognized by Dance Magazine as one of 25 Dancers To Watch. In 2015 Mr. Campbell appeared as a guest artist dancing the Cavalier in the Brava-California Riverside Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, and in 2016 danced in the Golden State Dance Foundation's Gala Celebration.
