This month, Points of Light will host the 21st annual Conference on Volunteering and Service, the largest convening of volunteer, national service, and civic leaders in the world. The Conference, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, will be held June 19-22, 2013, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

As the largest organization in the world dedicated to volunteer service, Points of Light strives to encourage action and impact by inspiring, training, learning from and connecting thousands of people on the front lines of community change. This Conference will discuss the future of service and reinvigorate the next generation of service leaders.

Highlights of the Conference will include:

A performance by nine-time Grammy award-winning artist John Legend during America's Sunday Supper

The launch of the One America campaign, a multi-month effort designed to bring unlikely pairs together in service

A panel with the nation's leading civic entrepreneurs sharing new and scalable ideas for engaging volunteers and donors

The announcement of $2 billion worth of pro bono services raised by A Billion + Change, a national campaign to inspire the largest commitment of corporate pro bono service in history

Opening Plenary: Launch of One America Campaign, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase

WHAT: The kick-off of a multi-month, multi-city campaign, where unlikely pairs will pledge to get along - in the spirit of service. The One America Campaign invites celebrities, leaders and citizens to collaborate on solving some of the most challenging problems facing America today. Chase will also announce a series of Chase Community Giving grants.

Civic Accelerator Showcase

WHAT:

Nine game-changing startups will present "TED-style" talks on how they are redefining civic engagement across the globe, as they compete for a $50,000 seed investment. All of the participating ventures are part of the Civic Accelerator program, run by Points of Light in partnership with Village Capital. The Civic Accelerator invests in early-stage "civic ventures" that are building healthier communities and engaging people to promote positive change.
