Return now to those thrilling days of yesterday when the venerable Midtown International Theatre Festival brings back the days of vaudeville with MITF Variety, an eclectic repertory of Cabaret, Burlesque, Stand-up, Magic Acts and Improv.

John Chatterton is looking for self-contained acts (artist must provide any musical instruments and amplifiers as well as a board op./stage manager to operate a simple light and sound board). All Acts invited to perform will receive at least one 45-minute set in one of the performance spaces that serve as host for the Sweet 16th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. No entry fees of any kind and performers get a percentage of the admission price (Tickets: $20). Interested performers should inquire at midtownfestival@gmail.com with a description of their act, with any supporting materials (script, clippings, etc.) in Word or PDF format or attached as video or music files. Dates for the MITF are July 13 - Aug. 2.

Year 2015 is Sweet 16 for the MITF. Young playwrights and other artists will be celebrated this year as part of the "Next Generation" focus in all festivals. Prolific producer John Chatterton has been a fixture of the Manhattan theatre scene for two decades. The Midtown International Theatre Festival is a leader in presenting powerful works from around the world - and one of the best reasons to come to New York in the summer.
