Joe Gulla's "Sleeping With The Fish" will play Därkhorse Drämatists' "Write to the Heart: Plays on Love" Festival on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th at the Cider Mill Playhouse in Binghamton, New York.

Written by Gulla and directed by Tony Yajko, "Sleeping With The Fish" tells the story of goodfellas, Don and Ron. After dumping their friend/mafia colleague, Ernesto, off the side of the Staten Island Ferry, Don and Ron take time to evaluate the status of their "relationship".

Gulla says of his play, "It's kinda like 'The Godfather' meets 'Brokeback Mountain'. Only, the famous Puzo quote, "Just when I thought I was OUT, they pull me back in!" - takes on a a whole new meaning! Ha!"

Joe Gulla won the 2016 Downtown Urban Arts Festival "Audience Award" for the performance of his play "The Bronx Queen" at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. This past October, the Dramatist Guild presented a staged reading of his play, "Garbo", as part of their Friday Night Footlights series. Directed by Brian Rardin, "Garbo" is a comedy/drama that recounts the playwright's years living in the Trastevere section of Rome, Italy.

What's next for Joe? The playwright states, "It is an exciting time! "Garbo" has been selected by the Downtown Urban Arts Festival to be performed at Off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theater this May. On top of that, discussions are under way to premiere my short play collection, "GAY.PORN.MAFIA" in New York City this Summer."
